Discover the other side of the coin and discover the history of British currency with our new Royal Mint Experience Break.
The Royal Mint, which was opened by the Queen after its move from the Tower of London to Wales in 1968, is the only place in the world where you can see British coins being created.
Go behind the scenes to follow the journey of a coin from blank to bank in a 45-minute Guided Factory Experience. You can watch coins being minted and you’ll have the opportunity to strike your very own 2016 £1 coin as a memento of your visit. Following this you’ll get to wander around the interactive exhibition at you leisure where you’ll discover the fascinating processes needed to make a coin, test your knowledge of the coins that have been made for countries around the world and get up close to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic medals.
A family-friendly day out, and perfect for coin enthusiasts, history buffs and those who want a unique insight into the UK’s oldest manufacturing institution.
